Last year Vienna Textile Lab got the opportunity to participate in a program called ClimateLaunchpad which is a professional competition platform for special business ideas.
What is ClimateLaunchpad?
ClimateLaunchpad is the world’s largest competition for green business ideas, offering a possibility to present innovative and inventive business ideas which have one thing in common – a positive impact on our climate, especially in reducing emissions. First, you can apply to participate at the national level. After successful admission to the program, ClimateLaunchpad supports the participants by coaching, mentoring and different trainings and helps the teams to enhance their ideas during the preparation time for the big competition. This includes access to a large and professional network consisting of a range of local partners including businesses, investors, chambers
of commerce and local government.
How does the competition work?
The competition takes place in three rounds. Round 1, the “2-day-Boot Camp”, features about 
7 business ideas in each country, which were previously selected from all applicants by a national jury. Round 2 consists of six coaching sessions, in which the teams are working professionally on their business models, value propositions and the upcoming pitches, ClimateLaunchpad calls it: preparing the participating teams to rock the competition stage. And at the end of round 2 the teams present their green ideas in front of a national jury. The top-3 ranked teams automatically qualify for participation in round 3, the Grand Final, a battle between the winners from all participating countries from all over the world.
