Vienna Textile Lab at ACHEMA 2024: Pioneering the Path to Bio-based Pigments
On June 10th, 2024, Vienna Textile Lab made a significant impact at ACHEMA in Frankfurt, the world-renowned forum for the process industries. 2,842 exhibitors from 56 nations showed 106,001 participants from 141 countries the latest equipment and innovative processes for the chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing and related industries at the Frankfurt exhibition grounds. As the textile industry faces increasing pressure to adopt sustainable practices, VTL’s participation at ACHEMA highlighted its role as a leader in eco-friendly textile innovation. Invited by International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3) and Dechema, VTL presented at the Startup Slam and met many startups practicing Green Chemistry.
Throughout the event, VTL engaged with a diverse audience, including industry experts, environmental advocates, and potential collaborators. The discussions centered around the scalability of microbial dyeing and its potential to transform the textile industry.
We could see microbial dyes and pigments were well sought materials at the event. But not only that we met many potential collaborators and suppliers.
We had a great time with Plastale from Egypt, Bioweg from Germany, Banyannation from India and Mavisol from the Netherlands.

As ACHEMA 2024 drew to a close, the anticipation for ACHEMA 2027 was already starting.
